I have a new iPhone obsession, Instagram. It is a photo editing/social network app. Thanks to my friend Julie in San Fran I now see picture opportunities every where. I also downloaded an app called Color Splash which is awesome. Below are some examples of my amateur work.
Today was basically like any other day. We got up and got ready for school but today we had an extra passenger, Pooh. Here he is waiting for his friend to finish with preschool:
Then on the way home my son, even though he had already eaten his lunch at school said that he and Pooh needed a snack and only Sonic tater tots would do. See Sonic is my son's favorite place to eat. He loves the Wacky Packs, but the chicken strip, french fries and milk are not enough so we have to get a small order of tater tots to go with it. Now this is normally a Wednesday treat after museum school. But it is getting to where when we take the exit to our house he knows the Sonic is on the way and the request to stop is becoming more frequent. Now most of the time I say no but today we pulled in to the local Sonic and got some tater tots for Pooh and friend. Here they are waiting on their order.
And here they are enjoying their snack.
A boy, his bear and the Sonic a great combination!
My rice cooker/steamer of 20 years finally went out. So after lots of research I finally found a replacement. Of course it is America's Test Kitchen's top rated model! I can't wait to cook rice, steam veggies and make some yummy steel cut oats for breakfast!
Today I was that mother...the mother with the son who threw a fit in the grocery store. The mother who's overly hyped up 4 year old son pushed over the 2 year old little girl at the Chick-Fil-A play yards. I was that mother.
Now I will say that the incident at CFA was not intentionally aggressive. He was playing with another boy and when the little girl moved in his way he pushed her. I immediately removed him, but he already knew what he did was wrong. He went to the little girl and said he was sorry. So a lesson was learned. So after today I have to remember.
I love Monday's! Yes I know I'm out of the norm on this one but unlike The Carpenters or The Mama's and The Papa's, Mondays don't get me down or leave me cryin' all of the time.
Mondays are my power days. I can't tell you why but I wake up on Mondays rejuvenated from the weekend and ready for a new week. I have always been like this. When I worked outside the home I got more done on Monday than any other day of the week. By Thursday I am draggin' and on Friday I am worthless.
Today was not exceptions. Since it was a holiday and I took my son to his cousins birthday party last evening he slept late and was not in the mood to go anywhere so we stayed home all day. He got to watch his PBS Kids, have some computer time and just play, and I took full advantage of this time at home.
I did all the laundry:
I preformed neck surgery on Teddy:
I cleaned the kitchen and cleaned out the cabinets:
I have a load of stuff ready to be delivered to Goodwill:
I cleaned out my stack of expired coupon inserts:
I even cleaned my makeup brushes, (which I should do more often):
I even did a little vacuuming and dusting:
And ended my day with a bible study lesson:
Now not every Monday is this way, I had two things going for me, one, a full day to be at home with no agenda and two, a cooperative 4 year old. So it was a very productive day and very cathartic! And the sanitation workers will be very busy on trash day!
